Welcome!

The Way Back Home Circle is a space designed to find lasting peace and joy for our troubled minds in a complicated world.

After a transformative experience of healing (the process continues) from attachment and complex childhood (developmental) trauma, I released my first book of poetry, Stripping- My Fight to Find Me with the hope that my story would inspire others to seek help for their trauma. In reality, it is a book for anyone who wants to better understand themselves and live an empowered life of purpose.

Trauma is the epidemic of our times.

I found my way back home only after decades of suffering from depression, anxiety, despair, excruciating and debilitating bouts of chronic pain, inter- personal relational challenges, and many other symptoms of attachment and complex childhood trauma.

Ironically, from the outside, you would never have guessed I suffered so deeply as I managed to build a highly successful career and family life. But I felt broken, unmoored and lost inside. My external success came at a steep price to my loved ones and me.

Unfortunately, my story is neither unique nor uncommon.

Mine is a typical story of transgenerational trauma which is insidiously passed down from one generation to the next and affects the entire family system.

But I learned that trauma can be the doorway to our awakening.

Despite the pain, loneliness and suffering it inflicted on me, trauma also gave me the opportunity to grow, transform and transcend.

I now know that the human brain is malleable and with the proper treatment and support, despite a challenging start in life, we can heal and lead lives of purpose, peace and fulfilment.

We are not meant to suffer alone, or go about the hard task of healing on our own. We are designed to help each other, and to be helped by others.

The Way Back Home is neither a lifestyle, nor a way of living.

TWBH is a Way of Being. So, come join me here on this incredibly exciting journey of reclaiming ourselves!

Sincerely,

Sunita

*For the record* I understand trauma to be a serious medical, emotional and mental health issue that needs to be addressed by qualified and experienced professionals. TWBH is a portal to self understanding and self care to help us reclaim our true selves and regain our personal power in conjunction with receiving the professional care we need. They go hand in hand. Also, TWBH is not a Self Help movement. TWBH is a Self Empowerment movement. For my opinion on the limitations of Self Help, you can read my post

FAQs
-Do you personally write all the articles?
Yes. I spend significant time researching and developing the original content I share here with the goal that it assists you in cultivating self empowerment, wellness, lasting peace and joy.
-How often do you publish a blog?
I usually share an article every week or two. My intention is always to write something that will be useful to you. Adhering to a strict and fixed posting schedule disallows me to draw inwards to do that. Nor is it a practice that is kind to me. However, I do post regularly, within a window that allows me to be intentional.
-What do you write about?
The topics I discuss span across multiple disciplines of science, psychology, mental health, wellness, humanities, business, leadership, and current events as they touch upon trauma, healing, transformation, and ultimately, the ability for us to transcend.
-Do you have paid subscriptions?
No. I offer my blog free of charge to everyone. There are no pay walls behind which additional information or content remains hidden to some.
-Do you participate in affiliate marketing?
No. Under no circumstance have I ever received, or will agree to receive a direct financial kickback or “affiliate” payment for any product I discuss. I also do not include affiliate links in any posts because they’re annoying and distracting. And, because I want to bring you my independent voice.
-What about any products, books or individuals you mention in your blogs?
No. If I mention/link a source, resource or person, it’s because I believe in the value they offer and would like to share that with you. Again, under no circumstance have I ever received, or will agree to receive a direct financial kickback or “affiliate” payment for anything I discuss.
-How can I support your mission?
You can however support my mission and my work by subscribing here, sharing my blog with others, and purchasing my book. If it helps you, leaving an honest review on Amazon allows others to find it as well.
