Announcing my Retirement as a Sleep Clinician to Focus on TWBH, The Way Back Home
Sleep will still be an important part of my path moving forward.
Hello,
It’s Sunita here.
It is with mixed emotions that I share with you that effective July 1, 2024, I will no longer be providing direct patient care at New Jersey Dental Sleep Medicine Center, the sleep center I founded a decade ago in Westfield, New Jersey.
I have loved every minute and every facet of my sleep career. That made the decision to discontinue my involvement in sleep medicine as a provider of treatment for sleep apnea a difficult one.
“All time is not created equally”, says Jim Collins, author of ‘Good to Great’ among many other best selling books, and someone who has deeply influenced my thinking as I conceptualized, and now develop TWBH.
So, at this point, I knew I had to make this choice so I can fully devote myself to my mission of helping others who suffer from trauma and mental challenges, and continue my own journey of the exploration of human consciousness through my poetry, writing, and impact Wellness Brand, The Way Back Home.
All we have is our mind. Our life is at any given moment a reflection of the state and quality of our mind at that time.
Everything we experience, accomplish and achieve is through our mind.
I discovered through my process of healing and writing poetry that the state and quality of our mind can change.
In my ongoing journey, I learnt and experienced these powerful, and empowering truths,
Only we can change our mind, and that everything we need to do that lies within us.
TWBH is all about helping others realize these two truths and providing them with a practice, process and provisions to live life as their best selves.
Sleep is not only important, but crucial for us to be able to continue healing (it is a continuous process) and minimize and mitigate relapses in the process.
More excitedly, sleep is also the entry point to access our superpowers and sleep helps us move forward in full thrive mode.
So, SLEEP is one of 12 circles of TWBH practice of Self Love Self Care First® I have been developing over the past decade. (I will be sharing SLSCF with you in the near future.)
I am extremely fortunate to have had the privilege of being a clinician in private practice for over three decades, during which I earned Diplomate status with both the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and the American Board of Craniofacial Sleep Medicine, and founded the NJDSMC.
Over the past decade, many individuals made significant contributions to NJDSMC and my professional development, without which the vision of creating a holistic and integrative Sleep Center would never have been realized.
I collectively thank them all here as I privately reach out to as many as I can in the next few months so I may thank them individually and personally.
As always, I am at a loss for words to express how lucky I feel for having the unconditional love and support my family gifts me. Without them, realizing my dreams and bringing my visions to life would hold very little meaning. I aspire to live in ways that honors them and their belief in me.
I am also grateful to anyone who reads this blog. I realize you spend your most scarce and precious resource, your free time, to come visit here. I feel the responsibility of being useful to you in how I create in this space.
We are all on this journey we call life together. It is my sincerest hope that I may lighten your load and mirror your perfect selves to you in some way with my work.
I end by sharing a recent poem of mine with you in the spirit of connection and love.
CHARTREUSE CHAMPAGNE BUBBLES
It is light reflected back.
I know that.
Yet, I willingly give my attention
To your devotional acts of assembly
That in their wild origins
Precision and Zen hum
Betray your intense longing for communion.
The delicate fragility
Of the wide expanse of glass
That separates your insides from mine
When experienced through the intention
Of its installation
Connect us to each other’s broken heartbeats
And invites us to belong to one another
By sharing our throbbing aliveness.
